Having brought millions of pounds worth of conference, meeting and exhibition business into the area in those 10 years, the Bureau's service has also been recognised on several occasions by the industry itself.
At the beginning of its 10th anniversary year it was named "Best UK Convention Bureau" at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards – the second time in three years that the Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau has lifted that trophy. And less than two months ago, it struck silver in the 'Business Tourism' category of the Heart of England Tourism's annual awards dinner.
The Bureau's 10th birthday celebrations began on yet another high with the news earlier this year that it had picked-up 10 new members, raising the number of venues and support services which it now represents nationally to 43 – its highest-ever membership.
"But it's not just about quantity," said Bureau Manager, Claire Williams. "We are very proud of the quality of venues we now offer to conference
organisers, buyers and agents. And our latest brochure now reflects the fact that we are able to offer a better mix of venues and support services than at any time in our ten year history."
Published every two years, the Perfect Location brochure was also been given an entirely new look for 2006.
A member of the British Association of Conference Destinations, as well as the 'Meet Heart of England' consortium, the Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau also operates a free Venue Finding Service.
