The Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau has unveiled all of its latest members in its new, bi-annual guide to the very best meetings and events facilities in this part of England.

A comprehensive 40-page guide to all of the venues, and other service providers, in-and-around Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, the 2008 brochure is the sixth since the inception of the Conference Bureau, as well as - without question - the most eco-friendly to date.
Some 6,000 copies of The Perfect Location have been printed by Festival Park based Wood Mitchell Printers Limited, and will now be put to very good use 'selling' the region to conference and event organisers nation-wide.
Bureau Manager Claire Williams is highlighting the fact that the new brochure not only features more venues than ever before, but also goes a long way to promoting an altogether greener way of 'doing the business'.
This is partly due to using an alternative printing and varnishing process which produces a high gloss finish eliminating the need for lamination. Produced entirely on-site at Wood Mitchell’s factory, there is no longer the need to transport printed sheets to the finishing house therefore contributing to lower emissions into the environment.
"It all cuts down on our carbon footprint," says Andrew Cadman of Wood Mitchell. "Unlike lamination, the varnish we use can easily be recycled, and therefore reduces landfill. At the same time, the solutions used to clean the varnish off the press are also recycled."
Wood Mitchell, he adds, is an accredited printer of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and actively encourages the use of FSC paper to all clients wherever possible.
The Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Conference Bureau is hoping the new guide will help to build on its reputation as a previous winner of the M&IT "Best UK Convention Bureau". A member of the British Association of Conference Destinations, as well as the 'Meet Heart of England' consortium, the Bureau also operates a free Venue Finding Service for anyone enquiring about conference and meeting facilities in the region.
